This World AIDS Day, MESMAC reflects on how far HIV treatment has come - with effective medication making the virus undetectable and untransmittable - and encourages testing as the first step to good health.

This World AIDS Day, we want to remember how far treatment has come for people living with HIV, and look ahead to the work still to be done to end new HIV transmission by 2030.

We now have some amazing medications which mean that people living with HIV can have long and healthy lives. Many people simply take one pill a day, and there are options including two-monthly injections for some people.

Being on treatment means that the virus can fall to undetectable levels, making it untransmittable to others.

The first step to getting treated is getting a test. The sooner you know your HIV status, the sooner you can take control of your health.

Yorkshire MESMAC can help with testing, support and any questions or worries you may have.
