THE ROLE (30 Hours Per Week)
- Engaging at the grassroots – delivering tailored HIV and STI prevention work directly within Black African and Migrant communities across South Yorkshire.
- Leading community outreach – taking health promotion straight to community groups, local events, shops, and venues where target populations gather.
- Providing vital testing – delivering community-based sexual health interventions, including rapid HIV and syphilis point-of-care testing (POCT) and STI screening.
- Breaking down barriers – collaborating closely with community leaders, local organisations, and existing groups to build trust and improve service delivery.
- Creating safe spaces – developing forums, support groups, and targeted events designed specifically to meet the unique needs of these communities.
- Educating and empowering – facilitating informative workshops for community members and delivering professional training to external sector workers.
- This role demands flexibility. Evening and weekend work is required to meet people when and where they are.
