Are you a man who has sex with other men, HIV+ or do you visit London regularly? There has been an outbreak of the little known infection Shigella in London, and it can be caught if you get small amounts of faeces in your mouth during sex.

So if you’ve experienced diarrhoea, stomach cramps and a fever, it’s a really good idea to get yourself checked out for Shigella. It can be mistaken for food poisoning, but if you have it you need to get medical advice and treatment.
