Background Information
The OUR Project was funded by the National Lottery Awards for All programme for 3 plots at West Bowling Allotments, Bradford. There has been extensive work being done in creating this project, not only have we transformed an over grown area in to a practical place to grow organic fruit and veg, the allotment offers a green retreat from urban living where service users can take the opportunity to sit and make the most of the tranquil surroundings, where children can also play in safety.

Background Information
Our aim is to provide time limited, focused support to people living with HIV, that improves quality of life, promotes independence and encourages people to access activities and services, in the community. The support involves being matched with someone who can provide support that will help them to become more independent and it is designed to be flexible and to meet individual’s needs.
Events & Fundraising Volunteer
Background Information
Events and Fundraising Volunteers (EFV), raise money to support ‘value added’ activity of Yorkshire MESMAC Group of Services. In other words we do not use voluntary donations to fund core work that is covered by grants or contracts.
Along side paid staff EFV work with local LGBT (and other) commercial venues in order to put on events that raise funds for and awareness of the organisation.
Group Support Volunteer
Background Information
At OUR & Begin we're proud of our support groups. We have been providing support to people living with HIV, and those affected by it, to explore their feelings, share experiences and provide emotional support. The regular group meetings have proven a vital support network for people who have often felt isolated by the stigma of HIV and allowed them to meet people with similar experiences.

Translator – With the increasing influx of ethnic origins and migrants it is felt that it would be beneficial to have volunteers who could translate scripts /posters and flyers into different languages.
