Thanks to safer sex and condoms, gay and bisexual men can enjoy great sex – and lots of it! Safer sex has stopped millions of us around the world from getting or passing on HIV. Most of us use condoms most of the time. Although sex can never be totally risk-free, you can decide what level of risk you’re happy with. PEP - Post Exposure Prophylaxis
PEP is a course of anti-HIV medication to be taken daily over the course of a month. It has been available for HIV prevention since the 1990s for health workers who have had 'needle-stick' or similar injuries. More recently, PEP has been made available under strict guidelines to people who might have been exposed to HIV during sex.
